My pain consultant is investigating the possibility of me having a spinal block operation at Kings London to help me with the pain, thats ontop of the Fentanyl, Oxycodone and cocodamol. Has anyone had this procedure and did it help?

Could you please tell me a bit more about any treatments that people suffering with this condition may be having. I have had LPHS for over 5 years now and I am only 17. Im am on high doses of oxycodone immediate release, oxcontin slow release and also oral morphine and I am running out of options for pain relief as these pain killers are no longer helping me. I am constantly getting kidney infections with it as well. I would like to know if anyone else gets constant kidney infections that have being diagnosed with LPHS. Hopefully oneday doctors will actually look into this more as they do not know what is going on so they just say LPHS is the answer when really it is not.

I have had LPHS for over 10 years now and I do get kidney infections. Not constantly, but I would say I get 3-4 a year. The one thing that is a constant for me is passing blood clots. I hope you don't have to go through that!!

Both acetaminophen and NSAIDs reduce fever and relieve pain caused by muscle aches and stiffness, but only NSAIDs can also reduce inflammation (swelling and irritation). Acetaminophen and NSAIDs also work differently. NSAIDs relieve pain by reducing the production of prostaglandins, which are hormone-like substances that cause pain. Acetaminophen works on the parts of the brain that receive the "pain messages." NSAIDs are also available in a prescription strength that can be prescribed by your physician.
