I recommend that anyone with recurrent renal colic or unexplained kidney pain or anyone who has been told that they have LPHS please ask to have a lying & STANDING IVU/ IVP ie intravenous urogram or pyelogram. I believe that all IVu's are done lying down & this will not show up a mobile kidney which is what the doctors have discovered that is the causeof my agonising pain.I doubt if any of you have had a lying & standing IVU.How lucky am I thatI can now see an end to what I was told is incurable kidney pain. One doctor told me I was a drug seeker& one said it was in my head. actually my lidney drops 5cms when I stand up& this causes renal colic. I will have no more pain when I have recovered from the operation & no more opiates! i feel as if I have been given a second chance at life!Best wishes to you all from AlisonPS The treatments that helped me most were acupunture, physiotherapy, McTimmoney Chiropractic, heat packs, prayer, music, worship& meditation
